Do you know that many schools of nursing receive funding to address the national shortage of nurses? One of the programs helping nursing schools train a diverse nurse workforce is the RWJF New Careers in Nursing Scholarship Program (NCIN) which provides funding to schools of nursing across the U.S. to improve education and expand nurse leadership.
The NCIN program is working on raising the education level of new nurses by focusing on providing scholarships to students enrolled in accelerated nursing programs. The New Careers in Nursing Scholarship Program offers scholarships, mentoring, and leadership training to nursing students entering the profession at the baccalaureate and master's levels. The program created through The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing helps schools of nursing to increase enrollment in accelerated baccalaureate and master's programs and to create a more diverse workforce capable of serving the needs of a changing patient population.
