Do you know about the New Careers in Nursing Scholarship Program (NCIN) created by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing? This scholarship program provides funding for schools of nursing across the nation.
The New Careers in Nursing Scholarship Program will provide 400 scholarships to nursing students enrolled in accelerated nursing programs during the 2011-2012 academic year. Schools which receive money through the program offer nursing scholarships to those who belong to groups not well represented in the nursing profession as well as to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. These grants signify a program investment of more than $23 million in nursing development and scholarships.
The program will provide scholarships in the amount of $10,000 each to 320 students in accelerated baccalaureate programs and 80 students in accelerated master's programs. Since its inception, the New Careers in Nursing Scholarship Program has distributed 2,317 scholarships at 109 schools of nursing.
